The Booster
The Booster (Patent Pending) represents the latest advancement in Arad Metering Technologies’ Fix Base system.
The Booster’s powerful bidirectional transceiver communicates directly with the water meter, and transmits the data via 1W ISM frequency hopping to a Concentrator.
The Booster stays in ‘sleep mode’ for a preprogrammed period (4 hours default), at which time it ‘wakes’, activating the receiver. The receiver becomes active approx. 2 seconds before the water meter transmits. |

The water meter transmission is synchronized with the Booster, thus enabling it to transmit a ‘dump command’ from the data log placed in the water meter. The water meter then transmits the data from the previous 4 hours; reading at 5 min. intervals.
The Booster rebuilds the data in frames, transmitting it via frequency hopping (each frequency transmits part of the data). The original data is configured to allow the receiver to rebuild it, even in the event that some of the frequencies were blocked at the time of transmission.
Error-checking and correcting protocols for high data integrity are utilized, plus multiple paths for transmitting. The Concentrator then obtains the complete data, even if fragments may have been damaged or missing in transit.
The Booster registers the exact time the meter concludes transmission, and then returns to ‘sleep mode’ until the next preprogrammed cycle begins.
