Data Collection
Data collection with Dialog3G systems is efficient, reliable and flexible. Aggregated data includes meter readings of water consumption, informative alerts and infrastructure performance.
Data is broadcasted at frequent 11- 30-second intervals to a distance of ~200 meters; this configurable broadcasting resolution is optimal for both pass-by (drive/walk) data collection and for the more common fixed data collection configurations. (Arad meters wireless data broadcast RF emission is impressively low—equivalent to zero by environmental standards.)
Drive by/Walk By data collection is a simple, low cost solution that requires only a small receiver. Data is collected while either driving or walking through the metered area. Data is easily transferred from the receiver to the system via removable storage or directly to the system via GPRS, WIFI etc.
In fixed data collection configurations, repeaters are installed to cover the entire metered area (e.g. a city). Broadcasted data is received by the repeaters and transmitted to the Arad Viper concentrators; Viper concentrators transfer all the received data to the Dialog3G system. This data flow ensures meter readings reach the system fluently, which allows detecting immediately alert situations such as reversed flow, leaks and missing meters.
